#13-Wedgwood Black Basalt Box
Per information from the Wedgwood company, founder Josiah Wedgwood's first ornamental design was Black Basalt - in 1768. The trinket box offered in this lot is, of course, far more recent but delightful nonetheless. Markings suggest 1908-1969. 1 1/8" high, 3.5" wide and 1.75" deep. Will need to be cleaned.
